First ever JS Prom

Here's my very first prom experience, I was also surprised because I thought I wouldn't experience prom anymore, but I was shocked when my former school announced the prom. So, I was really excited, and I immediately looked for something to wear. Another opportunity came my way when the school was looking for someone to sing at the prom, and I was chosen to sing for our prom event. I couldn't believe it at first, why they thought of me to sing, and I also thought why me when there are many others who are better singers. But I was so happy again because there are really things sometimes that you don't expect, and then suddenly they happen, so it's just so joyful.

After that, I practiced with my friends who were also part of the performers, and I faced some struggles because I didn't know what to do. It was my first time performing at a big event, but I just gathered my courage. We also had plans, of course, plans that we were sure everyone would enjoy. I really thought at first that planning was easy, but it's actually difficult because it's a big event, and it's also hard to think of a song that the audience would like, but we thought of popular songs at that time so they would surely like them, and we thought of "Uhaw" by dilaw because during those times, it was really popular and it's for those who are thirsty for attention so many can relate to it and like it, so that's what we chose and we practiced it for weeks, especially me, I took care of my voice so it wouldn't crack and practiced hard to perform well and be liked by everyone. The day of our prom arrived, and I was super excited but also full of nerves because I was going to perform, and I was the main vocalist. But I had many friends who were encouraging me and not letting me lose confidence. We also took pictures, friends whom I've loved and relied on in every moment when you need courage. I also enjoyed the hotel where our prom was held, the Bayleaf Hotel. It was very social; there were so many beautiful things to see, like their swimming pool.

And then came the part where I sang, and I couldn't believe that I sang well and without any mistakes, but I was trembling because I was also playing the guitar while singing, and it was really tough for me because I'm not that good at playing the guitar, but I did my best to perform my singing well, so I'm very grateful to everyone who encouraged me and trusted me to sing for our prom event, and of course, to my friends who played instruments.

On the way home, I really thought about all the happy memories and opportunities that came my way, there's really nothing impossible if you just try, even if you fail you will still succeed as long as you fight so I am very grateful to those who believed in me and to the Lord for everything.
