Christian Life
Here's my life in our church, so joyful and comforting. When I first started attending Christian Life services, I was just a listener and, of course, I felt shy around my fellow church members. Whenever they greeted me, I felt really embarrassed, and whenever they asked how I was doing, I would just awkwardly reply that I was okay. And when they asked if I had any talents, I just laughed because I was too embarrassed to admit that I did. After a few years, I finally decided to get baptized. Before we went through with it, we had a worship session, and they heard me sing. They noticed that I had a voice, and after the baptism, I decided to join our church's music team because I had always admired how they played instruments and sang. I thought it would be fun to try, and indeed it was. It brought me so much joy.
But first and foremost, I underwent three months of training, and then I officially became a vocalist in our church. Sometimes, I served as a backup singer, and sometimes as the main vocalist. It's nerve-wracking being the main singer because there are so many people in front of you, and it can be intimidating, but when I remind myself that the Lord is there, I don't feel nervous at all because I know He guides me. One big opportunity for me was singing at our church anniversary. There were so many people watching, and I even had a solo performance. I was incredibly happy to showcase my talent and use it in serving God. It's not just that; they also became my friends, and of course, when there's a problem that I can't handle alone or can't tell my parents, they're the ones I turn to because they're also leaders in the church, and when you're part of the team, they consider you family.
Also, I learned to play the guitar at our church because I thought that just singing wasn't enough. I wanted to learn an instrument too, so I tried to learn the guitar. I only learned basic chords at first, but eventually, I got the hang of it, even learning some more challenging chords over time. Bar chords and power chords were really a struggle because they hurt my fingers, and it was difficult to place them properly on the guitar, and strumming was also tough, but as they say, nothing is impossible if you really want it. There were many struggles, but I still wanted to continue learning so that I could do something else in worshiping God because I really love music, so I use my talent for God, and most importantly, I use it for the right reasons.
